Unreal Developer

Needle is seeking an Unreal Developer to join our team dedicated to crafting unforgettable experiences in theme park environments. We specialize in creating cutting-edge interactive installations that captivate and engage visitors of all ages. As an Unreal Developer, you will play a pivotal role in bringing our immersive visions to life, pushing the boundaries of technology and storytelling.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Unreal Engine development and a proven track record of delivering high-quality interactive installations for hospitality or similar entertainment venues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including creative directors, designers, and engineers to conceptualize and develop interactive installations for theme parks.

  • Utilize Unreal Engine to create captivating visuals, immersive environments, and interactive elements that enhance the overall guest experience.

  • Design and implement gameplay mechanics, user interfaces, and interactive features that align with project objectives and creative vision.

  • Optimize performance and ensure smooth operation of interactive installations in real-world theme park environments, considering factors such as hardware limitations and guest interaction patterns.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions to ensure the reliability and functionality of interactive installations.

  • Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and techniques in game development and interactive media, and apply relevant advancements to projects.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide progress updates, and solicit feedback throughout the development process.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience developing interactive installations or attractions for theme parks, museums, or similar venues.

  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine and Blueprints scripting language.

  • Strong understanding of game design principles, interactive storytelling, and user experience best practices.

  • Experience with real-time rendering techniques, shaders, and visual effects.

  • Familiarity with VR/AR technologies and their application in theme park experiences is a plus.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Remote Work Requirements:

Candidate must have access to high-speed internet and a computer with video recording capabilities. Needle will not provide necessary hardware required to full-fill job duties. A stipend will be provided to cover monthly software subscription fees during the term of engagement.
